Hydroxydicin pamoate is contraindicated in patients with previously proven hypersensitivity to the ingredients of this drug.
Hydroxyzine is used to treat itching caused by allergies. It is an antihistamine and works by blocking certain natural substances (histamine) that the body produces during an allergic reaction. Hydroxyzine can be used to cure fears or to make you sleepy/relax before or after surgery.
This drink should be taken by mouth, usually 3-4 times a day, with or without food, as prescribed by your doctor.
Dosage is based on your age, medical condition and response to treatment. In children, dosage is still based on body weight. Do not increase your own dosage. Also, do not take this medication more often than prescribed.
Tell your doctor if your condition does not improve or worsen.
You may suffer from drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, obstruction or dryness. Tell your doctor or pharmacist as soon as possible if one of these effects persists or worsens.
To dry your mouth, you can suck on a (sugar-free) hard candy or cold chip, chew gum, drink water or use saliva replacement.
Remember that this drug is prescribed because your doctor has ruled that the benefit outweighs the risk of side effects. Almost everyone using this drug has no serious side effects.

Interactions between medications can alter the effectiveness of the medication or increase the risk of serious side effects. If a dose is missed, think about it and take it in immediately. If you are close to the right dose time, skip the missed dose. Take the right dose at an easy time. Do not hang doses to catch up on backlogs.
Store at room temperature, away from light and humidity. Do not store in bathrooms. Keep all medications away from children and pets.
Do not flush the medication down the toilet unless this is prescribed. If product has expired or is no longer needed, throw product the right way. Consult your pharmacist or local waste processing company.

Hydroxydisimpamoate is not chemically related to phenothiazines, reserpine, merovamate, or benzodiazepines.
