What Does A Brown Recluse Bite Look Like

Brown recluse spider bite

Brown recluse Spider bites often go unnoticed because they are usually painless. A mild burning sensation may be noticed during the bite, which feels like a bee sting. Symptoms usually occur 2 to 8 hours after the stitch. Note that most stitches cause a small amount of tissue destruction.

Initially, the bite site will be slightly scar-colored red and during an accurate examination the dog’s prints will be visible. After a few hours, the redness gives way to a bleach with a reddish ring, or “bull’s eye,” around the area. Often, lesions can be seen flowing hours later. The central area often bubbles, discolors after 12-48 hours, turns bluish, then darkens as the tissue area dies. More on tanning procedures recluse spider bites.
