What is tizanidine ?

In consultation with your physician, take this medication by mouth, usually every 6-8 hours.
Dosage will be determined based on your health status, response to healing, and other medications you are taking. Be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist about all products you use (including prescription, over-the-counter, and herbal products). To reduce the risk of side effects, your doctor may trust you to start this medication at a low dose and gradually increase the dose. Follow your doctor’s instructions carefully; do not take more than 36 milligrams per day or more than three doses in a 24-hour period.
The body’s absorption of this medication depends on whether it is taken as a tablet or capsule, with food or on an empty stomach, and whether the capsule contents are sprinkled on food.
