Nitrofurantoin Capsules – Introduction, Side Effects, and Almost Everything

This drug is used to treat or prevent certain urinary tract infections. This drug is considered an antibiotic that works by stopping the rise of bacteria. It does not work in viral infections (e.g., colds and flu). Excessive or unnecessary use of antibiotics can lead to poor performance. In children, nitrofantrine may not be used less than 1 month because of the risk of certain blood problems (hemolytic anemia).

How to Use Nitrofantrine Capsules

Take this medicine by mouth with food or milk, according to your doctor’s instructions. This medicine is usually taken 4 times a day to cure an infection or once a day before bedtime go to bed. Side Effects.

Nausea, loss of appetite and lack of headache may occur. To minimize nausea, take this medication with food. If one of these effects persists or worsens, contact your doctor or pharmacist immediately.

This medication turns urine dark yellow or brown. This effect is harmless and will go away when you stop taking the medicine.

Remember that this medication is prescribed because your doctor has determined that the benefit for you is greater than the risk of side effects. Almost everyone who uses this drug has no serious side effects.

If you have any of these symptoms, do not use the drug for diarrhea or opioids, as it may worsen your symptoms.

Prolonged or repeated use of this medication may lead to thrush in the mouth or new vaginal fungal infections (such as oral or vaginal fungal infections). If you notice white spots in your mouth, changes in vaginal discharge, or other fresh signs, contact your physician.

How does it work?

Nitrofurantoin belongs to a class of drugs called antibacterial or antibiotics. A drug class is a group of drugs that function in a similar way. They are often used to cure disorders.

Nitrofurantoin helps kill bacteria that cause urinary tract infections. It works only against certain types of bacteria.

Nitrofurantoin oral capsules can cause drowsiness. It may also cause other side effects.

More common side effects of nitrofurantoin can include:
