Leiden’s DHEAS takes place in the adrenal glands, which are two small glands located above the kidneys. They help regulate heart rate, blood pressure, and other bodily functions. Minimal amounts of DHEA are produced by the male egg and the female ovary; if DHEA levels are not normal, it could mean that there is a problem with the adrenal glands or the sex organs (testicles or ovaries).
