CCP Antibody Test

This test looks for CCP antibodies (cyclic citrullinated peptides) in the blood. also known as antibodies against CCP, of antibody CCP antibodies, also known as antibodies to CCP, are called autoantibodies. Antibodies and CAR antibodies are proteins produced by the immune system. Antibodies protect you from disease by wiping out germs, bacteria, and other strange preparations. Autoantibodies can cause disease by attacking healthy cells in the body.

CCP antibodies focus on healthy joint tissue. When CCP antibodies are detected in the blood, this can be a symptom of rheumatoid arthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis is a common autoimmune disease that causes joint pain, swelling, and stiffness. CDC antibodies are found in more than 75% of people with rheumatoid arthritis. They are rarely found in people without the disease.

Other names: recurrent citrullinated peptides. antibody Anti-acetolated peptides. antibody , citrulline antibody Anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide, anti-CCP. antibody , ACPA

What is it used for?

A CCP antibody This test is used to diagnose rheumatoid arthritis. Often it is done at the same time as the Rheumatoid Moment (RF) test. The rheumatoid moment is again a picture of the auto-anti body. It used to be the most important test for the diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis. However, RF factors can be detected in people with other autoimmune diseases and even in some healthy individuals. Almost all studies have shown that CDC antibodies give a more accurate diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis than radio frequency tests.

This test may be necessary if there are signs of rheumatoid arthritis. These include

  • Joint pain
  • Joint stiffness, especially in the morning.
  • Joint swelling
  • Fatigue
  • Low fever.

The risks associated with blood tests are not sufficient. There may be some minor soreness or bruising at the needle site, but most symptoms disappear quickly.

What do the results mean?

If your CCP antibody A positive result means that these antibodies were detected in the blood. A negative result means that virtually no CCP antibodies were found. The significance of these results may also depend on the results of the rheumatoid factor (RF) test and physiological tests.

If there are signs of rheumatoid arthritis and the results indicate the following

  • CCP antibodies are positive and RF is high, it probably means that rheumatoid arthritis is present.
  • If CCP antibodies are positive and RF is negative, this may mean that you are in the early stages of rheumatoid arthritis or that you will develop rheumatoid arthritis in the future.
  • If CCP antibodies and RF are negative, this means that you are unlikely to develop rheumatoid arthritis. Your doctor may need to do further investigation to determine the cause of your complaint.

  • Synovial fluid
  • C-reactive protein.
